Late-Night Talk Show Themed Awards Dinner

When United Way of Greater Waterbury set out to celebrate their leaders and supporters at the 38th Annual Celebration & Awards Dinner, we wanted to capture the fun yet professional energy this event brings – and we knew a late-night talk show theme would accomplish just that! Powerstation Events decor and production teams set the stage for a traditional late-night feel using props such as plants, rugs, a cozy couch for guests, and a proper desk complete with the talk show host staple, a branded coffee cup. This production was a non-traditional set up in that the presenter screens were positioned on either side of the speakers, allowing for the talk show theme to take center stage and gave the event a more authentic feel. But we didn't stop there. Once the visual feel was complete, this night needed to sound like a talk show, so instead of announcing award winners, the host welcomed the "next guest" with personalized intro music, and invited them onstage for a true interview style chat. And of course, every late night show has a surprise for their top guest - and ours was confetti! All of these details stirred up a casual, fun and energetic evening!

Three Day Indian-American Wedding Celebration

Ali and Vijay's multi-cultural wedding was a stunning three-day celebration with friends and family in attendance. Our decor team designed a custom colorful draped backdrop for the Sangeet and included countless gold accents and eye-catching textures and patterns.

Day two brought the celebration to the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT where our wedding planners and decor team coordinated the construction of both the Hindu and American ceremony sites. The Hindu ceremony included a custom-designed and built mandap and sunshade for guests.

The reception tent on the lawn of the Hill-Steam Museum was adorned with string lights and lanterns for lunch and dinner.

Nicknacks Calligraphy & Design created Ali and Vijay's wedding signage and table numbers and our decor team used the florals from the Hindu ceremony for the American ceremony.

The 2019 Taft School Formal brought the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz right to the Aqua Turf in Southington, CT. A mix of venue lighting and our Powerstation Events uplighting created a wash of magical green color. Our decor team expertly draped the ceiling in a star formation with our elegant sheer fabric.

Our videography team worked with our audio and lighting engineers to bring the Great and Powerful Oz to life at the entrance of the Aqua Turf. With the help of green screen technology, pre-recorded video, smoke machines, projection and ominous red lighting, students and guests were warmly greeted at the entrance to their formal event.

Paige's rose gold-themed sweet sixteen birthday party was definitely one for the books! Our floral and decor teams designed simple, yet gorgeous, floral arrangements for the tables, a white and blush sheer backdrop, and hung string lights in the venue. Powerstation Events also provided a beautiful custom gobo and pink uplighting to transform the space.

DJ Jesse made sure all of Paige's guests had an incredible time. From MC-ing to playing all the hottest tracks, the party never stopped. And thanks to lead photographer Heather, Paige and her friends and family will remember this wonderful celebration for years to come!

We are also thrilled to sponsor Fan Fest at home games and the UConn starting lineups on the jumbotron. Fan Fest sees local and national bands perform on our Powerstation Mobile Stage with sound mixed by our expert audio engineers. Our video team is strategically positioned in a handful of locations throughout the stadium to guarantee the best shots for live broadcasting and replays. Live audio and wireless microphones are also handled by our team to ensure high quality sound from each corner of Rentschler.

1954's White Christmas Movie Theme

The annual Ingersoll Christmas party is one of our favorite events to produce. We spend almost an entire year honing in on the chosen theme and bringing it to life as real as possible. Past themes have included the Polar Express, a winter in New York City and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. In 2019, we brought the 1954 classic film White Christmas to life at The Waterview in Monroe, CT.

As guests entered through the main foyer, they are transported in to the battlefield during World War II where the film begins. Cocktail hour was decorated with sandbags, dynamite and field hospital decor. In the movie, the characters hop on a train to Pine Tree, Vermont for a stay at the Colombia Inn. As the scenery changes from bleak to bright in the film, our decor team transformed the lower and upper floors of the venue respectively.

We also designed the Columbia Inn's reception desk from the ground up, offering vintage candies and room keys. Finally, our design and salon teams worked together to transform our staff into the movie characters themselves, and also a nine-foot-tall Christmas tree!

We are proud partners of Connecticut's leader in catered events, Connecticut Wedding Group, based in Middletown, CT. In pre-pandemic 2020, CTWG hosted the annual Leading Caterers of America Northeast Conference at the Inn at Middletown with a reception at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills.

We provided projectors, screens, speakers and microphones for the conference portion of the two-day event.

For the reception at The Barns, In Bloom Event Design provided food-themed centerpieces and bud vases for all dinner tables. The arrangements included heads of cabbage, miniature pineapples, radishes, peppers, artichokes and more mixed with herbs like rosemary and thyme.

Nicknacks Calligraphy & Design worked together with In Bloom and our workshop crew to construct our now-popular Champagne Wall, used as a seating chart at the LCA conference.

In The "Virtual" Company of Women

For many years, we have been honored to produce YWCA Hartford Region's In The Company of Women event. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event went virtual with the help of our talented video and production teams and members of the YWCA. Much of the event was pre-recorded in our Studio located in Cheshire, CT which offers a full range of production services including lighting, audio and video production, set design, teleprompter capabilities and more.

The full production of the In The Virtual Company of Women event premiered to hundreds of participants who tuned in live on September 9.

The summer of 2020 saw a halt in in-person gatherings, including concerts and shows of all kinds. As a morale boost for our friends, families, colleagues and music-lovers alike, our production team hosted the first ever Powerstation Events Virtual Concert Series from the comfort of our Studio right in Cheshire, CT.

Local acts from around the state came to perform for hundreds of viewers via live stream, one of our most popular services since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. All sets were custom designed for each band and musician and included lighting, staging, sound mixing and multiple camera views.

Alessandra's quinceañera was a stunning celebration and we're thrilled to have been a part of it! Our wireless uplights created a wash of pink color across the ballroom and our custom gobo was an eye-catching addition to the party decor.

DJ Jesse had friends and family on the dance floor as soon as the ceremony was over and continued the party into the night. Guests loved the Instant Photo Station, complete with more pink uplighting and a gorgeous custom paper flower wall designed by In Bloom Event Design. Heather photographed the entire event from start to finish, allowing Alessandra and her family to cherish her beautiful quinceañera for years to come.

When the Hawthornes reached out to us, we were excited to jump at the opportunity to provide production services for Mitchell's pool party-themed bar mitzvah!

Lead Photographer Rick captured photos at temple of Mitchell and his family, as well as covered the reception and party portion of the celebration. Our design and decor teams created sunflower centerpieces and a custom hanging beach ball wall to coincide with the poolside theme. Guests had a blast in the green screen photo booth and DJ Jesse and our Dance Motivators had family and friends of all ages on the dance floor all afternoon!

The annual Danbury Hospital Gala is one of our favorite events to produce. We work closely with their event committee to hone in on exactly what they need to bring their theme to life. 2019's groovy theme brought out the creativity in our event designers who went above and beyond to bring color, fun and high-quality services to the gala.

The most eye-catching installment at the Beat Goes On gala was unmistakably the light-up dance floor in the center of The Waterview ballroom in Monroe, CT. Guests danced the night away in front of staging and lighting built by our hardworking crew. Other services we provided included a green screen photo booth, custom and themed gobos, audio and video, DJ, live band, decor and photography.

Rob Kearney Breaks the American Log Press Record

In June 2020, our team was contacted by All In: Health & Fitness Solutions based in Dubai. Their client Rob Kearney was to attempt the American Log Press record in front of a live audience, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, decided to go virtual. We invited Rob to attempt the record at our Studio in Cheshire, CT where it was live-streamed across the globe and broadcasted to ESPN in real time.

Rob, who previously held the American Log Press record, broke his personal best with a whopping 475.75 lbs. Fans from all over the world tuned in to ESPN and the multiple platforms hosting live streams to cheer Rob on and congratulate him on his success.

When Lexus of Warwick asked as if we could provide a hot chocolate bar for their upcoming activation, we said yes and they let us run with it. Heather, our Creative Director, was the brains behind the toppings, glass containers and table decor and had some help from Nicknacks Calligraphy & Design 's Nicky on signage and In Bloom Event Design on the gorgeous holiday garland.

Heather monitored supplies and keeping the cocoa hot all day in chilly Warwick thanks to our tent sides and space heater. This activation was such a hit that we've had requests for similar setups from handfuls of clients.

A sweet treat with a little holiday flair, this Lexus Hot Chocolate Bar was one of our favorite activations of the year!

Black Bear Americana Music Fest returned to Goshen, CT for its second year in 2019. This hometown, fairground festival brought 35+ new and returning acts, incredible local vendors, camping and a weekend of fun and great music to Litchfield County on Columbus Day weekend.

As the official production partner to the Black Bear Americana Music Festival, our team spent a year working on solutions to make this year's festival better than the last. The event grew exponentially in attendance, production size, value and community togetherness. Our crew and technical team transformed the Goshen Fairgrounds into a top-of-the-line concert venue with staging, lighting, live audio mixing and video projection.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 festival was cancelled. However, this leaves our Black Bear team more time to improve upon last year's event and bring an even bigger and better show to all of the fans in 2021!

The winter of 2019 brought new developments to Danbury Hospital in the form of opening their brand new Yoriko McClure surgical suite. The suite is named after a Bridgewater, CT resident who underwent coronary bypass surgery at Danbury Hospital and was so pleased with her care that she donated $3 million to transform its cardiac operating room.

We were proud to provide production services for the surgical suite ribbon cutting including microphones and audio, video, a lectern, staging and professional photographic coverage of the entire event.

We were honored to provide production services for the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter's first annual Harvesting Hope event in the beautiful Hartford Union Station. St. Mary's Hospital Foundation gala is one of our favorites to produce every year. 2020's event was runway-themed and our technical teams had an incredible time designing twin runways on both sides of the ballroom at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, CT.

Other services that our team at Powerstation Events provided include lighting, audio and video, table centerpieces, LED video walls and a paparazzi-inspired photo station with custom step-and-repeats, feather wall and black glitter carpet.

To close out the event, Powerstation DJ Norbs had the crowd dancing for hours into the night.
